Porcelain Paving Patio, Surbiton
Maria lives in Surbiton, in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. Her relatively new garden was not meeting her family’s needs and she came to us for her new porcelain paving patio.
After living in her new build home for a while, Maria discovered that the lawn was prone to getting very muddy and not an ideal surface for her young child to play. We recommended dispensing with the lawn entirely and replacing it with a stunning porcelain paving patio that would always look good, be a great surface to play on, and free up time from constant mowing.
Once the colour and style of the paving slabs were agreed, we began the work. We dug out the turf and took out the existing patio area. We also removed the small shed – with no lawn to take care of, Maria wouldn’t need a whole shed for garden tools. We then levelled the area and laid hardcore. After damping down the hardcore to ensure a good foundation, we lay the porcelain pavers over the whole area, leaving a border round the edge that we filled with gravel. We replaced the original drainage channel with one that complemented the new porcelain pavers.
Maria is very pleased with her new, low maintenance, child-friendly outside space and loves the way the porcelain pavers make her plot stand out from the crowd.
