Debbie lives in Cheam, in the London Borough of Sutton. She contacted us for advice on resurfacing her driveway and we recommended a permeable resin bonded gravel drive for her needs and budget.

We inspected Debbie’s old driveway and front garden area during our free consultation visit and presented Debbie with several options to revamp the front garden of her home. Debbie needed a hard surface covering the whole area but wanted it to blend in with her home. We suggested a permeable resin bonded gravel drive bordered by contrasting pavers to give her home a contemporary look.

Once the design was finalised, we began by removing all the existing hard landscaping surfaces. This gave us a clean slate to level and prepare the ground properly for driveway use. Once we had created a flat foundation, we built a border from pavers to enclose the driveway. Then, we installed a tarmac base for strength and to build the driveway up to the correct height. Once the tarmac was complete, we carefully spread the resin bonded gavel over the whole area. We also created a front step from the same materials for a unified look. The resin bonded gravel was also used to camouflage a manhole cover, yet still allow drain access.

Debbie is delighted with her new permeable resin bonded gravel drive; it makes her home look smart and will allow for years of vehicle use.
