Wayne got in touch with us to replace and expand the large old paved driveway at his home detached home in Kingston upon Thames.

The existing driveway was long overdue a replacement, with loose blocks in many places and notable sagging and warping at the foot of the drive. Wayne wanted a complete overhaul of the space, with the driveway expanded by the removal of the front lawn and the replacement of the block paved side path as well.

A notable addition to the driveway would be four self-raising electric bollards, something Wayne had wanted installed for a long time since the end of the driveway was a shared access area.

With the estimate and follow-up survey out of the way we began by removing the old paving blocks and excavating the front lawn. We were then able to begin re-levelling the foundations, and as we did we precisely installed the four electric bollards near the fringes of the driveway.

The ground was then prepared for the application of the Barleystone Castlepave paving, with extra care taken to lay down the border edging where the driveway meets the road in a broad and elegant curve, before the new block paving was laid throughout the driveway and side path.

Wayne’s home is now complemented by a majestic block paved driveway, with plenty of additional space and added security and privacy thanks to the new self-raising bollards.
