Our client lives in Croydon, South London. HIs back garden was a good size, but needed a refresh to bring it up to the standard of the rest of the house. He called us and we helped him envision how a new patio and turfing, complete with contemporary garden landscaping, could transform his space.

During his free consultation, our client explained how we wanted to use the garden – having a clearly defined lawn, planting area and patio was important, as well as being able to access the garden room at the end of the plot.

Once the plans were agreed, our first job was to clear and level the entire site. Then, we installed a raised bed that enclosed and retained the plants that were already established. As part of the raised bed structure, we installed a smaller planting area that the owners can use to plant herbs to be easily accessed from the kitchen.

We then prepared the ground for the hard surfaces and laid the patio and paths that followed the contours of the raised beds and allowed for seating outside the house and garden room.

Finally, we laid topsoil over the central lawn area, ensuring that the freshly laid turf was able to establish quickly.
