We were contacted by Alexander who wanted to overhaul the entire front driveway of his double fronted mock tudor house in Croydon.

The existing block driveway had seen better days and had become uneven, but most importantly the space was simply to cramped to effectively use as a parking space. He wanted to open up the driveway and beautify the front of his home simultaneously.

After visiting him for a free estimation we discussed his ideas for the project, especially his need to have the new driveway match the traditional aesthetic of his home. Knowing we would need something special we decided to use Breeden golden gravel for the driveway and granite setts for the edging and pathways closer to the house. We would also remove the existing front wall and replace it with a new wall made from reclaimed bricks.

We began by removing the old block driveway and overgrown trees and shrubs around the front wall, as well as the wall itself. We were then ready to lay the foundation for the new driveway as we constructed the new reclaimed brick wall in a style similar to the old wall. A new, more compact garden space was incorporated into the walls design. We were then able to lay down the extensive granite sett paths around the property and finally lay down the Breeden golden gravel driveway.

Alexander now has a much more spacious driveway which not only has improved access but which is also in keeping with the traditional style of his home.
