Aiden lives in Putney, South London. His back garden suffered with standing water after rain, so he contacted us to discuss improving the drainage, general garden landscaping and fencing.

After assessing Aiden’s garden during our free consultation meeting, we suggested a few different ways we could improve the drainage. Years of standing water had taken its toll on the garden and we discussed how the general landscaping and fencing could be improved to fit with family life.

Our first job was to clear the site completely so we could install a new sub-base that will ensure good drainage. On top of this sub-base we laid a layer of topsoil before marking out the new areas of the garden. As the family have children, most of the area was laid to grass with a hardwearing turf. We installed dedicated flower beds edged with blocks that matched the path and patio area, and new shiplap fencing smartens up the whole garden. Finally, we added wood chip to the site of the children’s trampoline. This will be easy to remove in the future, so that this area can be a focal point to the planting scheme once the children have grown.

Aiden and his family are delighted with the finished garden landscaping and fencing, Putney, and the improved drainage mean that they get to enjoy their garden even if rains.
