David lives in Banstead, Surrey. His large, sunny back garden was suffering from patchy grass and difficult to manage sloping borders. He contacted us to lay artificial grass and other jobs as part of a garden landscaping project.

During our free consultation visit, David explained that it was difficult to keep the grass looking good and this made the garden feel like a burden, rather than a space to be enjoyed. This was stopping the family from realising the full potential of the open and secluded garden. We suggested laying artificial grass, which would look immaculate all year round with no additional effort. We would also extend the patio area near the house, add a brick border to the artificial lawn, build a retaining wall that will keep the sloping borders in place, and replace the worn steps at the bottom of the garden.

Once David was happy with the design, we began the landscaping project. After digging out and lifting the patchy lawn, we built the retaining wall and steps. We then levelled the lawn area, then added and compacted the hardcore base. We could then lay the block border edging and patio paving slabs. With the structural elements of the garden landscaping complete, we lay sand over the lawn area before laying and sealing the artificial grass.

David is delighted with his newly landscaped garden and the artificial grass looks like the real thing. Now, whatever the weather, David can enjoy his garden without worrying about lawn maintenance.
